Doubles team Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Hradecka of the Czech Republic ended their fairytale run at the French Open 2011 Women’s Doubles event with a title win after beating seventh-seeded Elena Vesnina of Russia and Sania Mirza of India.
“A Grand Slam title is a great, great thing. Not a lot of people have it, so it’s something special,” Hradecka said after the match.
“Today I realized I’ll have something to put on it. It’s great. It’s something I will remember and everybody will remember. I wouldn’t exchange it for anything,” she added.
Hlavackova and Hradecka have accumulated four WTA titles in the past. However, in Grand Slam events, they have never went as far as the quarterfinals in their past nine tries
